What is the Life Cycle Tab?

The Life Cycle Tab in UNITY is designed to track the data around the life of an asset. With this data, organizations can easily determine capital budgets and understand when an asset needs to be replaced and how much it will cost.

Life Cycle Tab

Equipment Category
The Equipment Category is a dropdown field configured in Account Administration with the appropriate permissions. The amount of labels in the dropdown is unique to your organizational workflow.

Date Installed
This is the date the equipment was installed at the facility.

Life Expectancy
A numerical value in years of how long the equipment is usable.

Asset Life Remaining
UNITY will automatically calculate the remaining asset life.

Installed Value
United States dollar value of the amount the asset cost when purchased. It is possible to include a total of both asset and installation services or just the asset value itself.

Replacement Value
The Replacement Value is the cost of the asset or asset with installation services at the time it needs to be replaced. This is in US Dollars.

Revenue Risk
The Revenue Risk is the amount of revenue the facility would lose if the asset is not replaced. This is in US Dollars.

UNITY: Condition Assessment

The Condition Assessment Tab on the Equipment Device card is a way to begin tracking capital planning details for your organization’s equipment. It also allows for some easy standardization of equipment types of easier project replacement planning.

Assessment Date

The assessment date is the date that the equipment was last visually inspected or reviewed by an employee or organization.

Uniformat Code
This cascading list is designed to standardize equipment into specific groups. While it can be configured to your organizational categories, it is designed to support the standard classification system from the Construction Specifications Institute. This field is configured in UNITY Admin under the list editor and can be built out to 5 levels.

Timeframe
This dropdown field is configurable with the appropriate permission. It is a text field that describes an approximate timeframe when the equipment in the Uniformat Code should be replaced. As all equipment ages differently the exact year can be entered in to the Renewal Year.

Major Function

Each uniformat code has an overall major function. This is configured on the UNITY Admin with the appropriate permissions. This allows for quick grouping and reporting at a higher level.

Renewal Year
This numerical field is the exact year that the equipment should be replaced. With this data and the data on the Life Cycle Tab, capital budgets can be created.

UNITY: Capital Planning

Understanding the complexity of an asset replacement project is key in planning. This data calculates an overall project score. The higher the score the more complex and more expensive the replacement project. Each of these fields are numeric and the facility can determine scores based on its own schedules. We have provided a recommended schedule to get your facility started.
