The breaker schedule for an electrical panel can be loaded into FacilityONE for easy access.
Creating a New Panel and Schedule
- When a user creates a new Equipment Item in UNITY and selects Electrical Panel as the System/Type, they are prompted to choose the Schedule Layout
- If the defaults are accurate for the Electrical Panel, no modifications are needed
- Starting Circuit Number: click on one of the available options (blue buttons), or click in the field and type a custom number or use the arrows to increase/decrease (default is 1)
- Number of Circuits: click on one of the available options (blue buttons), click in the field and type a custom number or use the arrows to increase/decrease (default is 42)
- Layout: select the option that best fits the structure of the Electrical Panel (default is 135 Odd/Even)
- If the defaults are accurate for the Electrical Panel, no modifications are needed
- Proceed with adding the equipment information (Name, Manufacturer, etc) and click Save to create the new Panel
- Once the Panel has been created, expand the Device Card by clicking the chevron (v) icon
- Click the More icon to see a list of additional options
- Click (↓)Download Panel Schedule
- This will prompt the system to download an Excel file and depending on the browser settings, the file will either open automatically or the user will be prompted to open or save the file
- The file will automatically be formatted based on the settings chosen for the Panel Schedule settings
- In the below example, the Starting Circuit Number was kept at the default of 1, the Number of Circuits was set to a custom input of 24, and the Layout was kept at the default 135 Odd/Even option
- Enter the breaker names into the appropriate line in the column labeled Description
- For any blank spaces in the Electrical panel that are not filled with a breaker, leave the line in the Excel file blank
- If a breaker occupies more than one pole, it is not necessary to add the Description in every line, just the first line
- Enter the number of poles the breaker occupies in the column labeled “Poles”
- The system will accept a Poles entry of 1, 2, or 3
- For Poles entries greater than 1, the system will automatically populate the lines beneath with the appropriate information so it is not necessary to enter any information in those lines
- Enter the amperage of the breaker in the column labeled Amps
- The system will accept values no smaller than 15 and no larger than 6000
- If a breaker occupies more than one pole, it is not necessary to add the Amps in all lines, just the first line
- Once the file has been filled out to completion with all known/occupied breakers entered in the appropriate lines, save the file to the computer and ensure the Save destination is noted
- To upload the Panel Schedule, return to the Device Card in UNITY and click More
- Click View Panel Schedule to open the Panel Schedule Viewer
- At the top right of the Viewer, click the Upload (↑) icon
- Drag the saved Excel file from where it is located on the computer into the Upload box or click in the Upload box to select the file
- Once the correct file is selected, click Upload
- Click Cancel to exit the upload process
- Click the (X) next to the file name to remove that file and choose another
- The Panel Schedule will automatically populate the information based on the entries in the Excel file.
- Once the Schedule has been successfully uploaded, the user can return to the Schedule Viewer to print, download, or edit a Schedule
- To exit the Schedule Viewer, click (X)
Editing an Existing Panel Schedule
- Locate the Panel in need of Schedule edits, open the Device Card, and click More to expand the full list of options
- Click (↓) Download Panel Schedule
- Additionally, the Schedule can be downloaded from within the Panel Schedule Viewer by clicking the (↓) icon at the top right
- This will prompt a download of an Excel file formatted based on the existing Panel Schedule
- If the Panel Schedule settings were not chosen when the Panel was added to the print, all columns in the Excel file will be blank and the user must manually enter the breaker numbering based on the Electrical Panel
- Make edits to the Description, Poles, and Amps as needed
- If the number of available circuits needs to be increased, enter the additional numbers in the “(#)” column while maintaining the chosen format (i.e. Odd/Even numbering)
- Example: the panel was setup as a 24 circuit panel, but it actually has 30 circuits. In this case, you would fill in data for circuits 25 through 30 on the Excel file.
- Once the edits are complete, save the file to the computer and ensure the Save destination is noted
- See below for what the Excel file for the original Schedule above would look like after edits including added circuits (increased from 24 to 30) and updated Descriptions, Poles, and Amps
- To upload the edited Panel Schedule, return to the Device Card in UNITY and click More
- Click View Panel Schedule to open the Panel Schedule Viewer
- At the top right of the Viewer, click the Upload (↑) icon
- Drag the saved Excel file from where it is located on the computer into the Upload box or click in the Upload box to select the file
- Once the correct file is selected, click Upload
- Click Cancel to exit the upload process
- Click the (X) next to the file name to remove that file and choose another
- The existing Panel Schedule will then update based on the modifications made in the Excel file
- Once the Schedule has been successfully uploaded, the user can return to the Schedule Viewer to print, download, or edit a Schedule (see below section on Editing Schedules)
- To exit the Schedule Viewer, click (X)
